- Practice selective listening - not every word said is important and relevant .
- Jot down notes as the speaker talks
- If you can't hear the recording clearly . raise up your hand to inform the person in charged to increase the volume of the recording . It is not wrong to do so .
- Read up on various topics o familiarize yourself with the terms and spelling of various words

tips for answering muet speaking
- TIPS FOR ANSWERING MUET SPEAKING
The MUET speaking test is one of the four areas which will be tested apart from reading, writing, and listening. This test is to evaluate the students fluency as well as their level of command in the English language. Unlike the other tests, the MUET speaking test is the only one which will require you to interact with three other students. It is aimed at testing your ability. Such as effectively convey your message and opinion across to others,think critically,keep a conversation going and also use the english language in a fluent and confident manner.
During the test,all four students will be given the same scenario but each of you is given
different questions. There are two parts to the speaking test Task A and Task
B. After a given question. students were given two minutes to prepare and 2
minutes for present.
*TIPS*
- Study the scenario or topic given carefully
- Make sure you don’t run out of topic
- Prepare 2 to 3 points to present on
- Make full use of the 2 minutes that you have.
- Dont go less than 1 minute 45 seconds/more than 2 minutes.
- If you don’t have as many points to speak about,talk slower.
- Dont relax after your turn! Keep an attentive ear to what the other candidates are talking about.
- write down the other students answers as they present their 2 minute speech (to prepare yourself for Task B)
TASK A
- Greet everyone and go straight to your task.
- You should not read from your notes without giving eye contact to the others in the group
- speak clearly and loudly so that your group members and the assessors can hear you.
- you should not paused for a long time.
- be focus and make sure your points are relevant to the task or question given.
TASK B
- Show your interest and take the initiative to start the discussion
- Look at the others when you speak and respond their comments
- You should take down notes when others are speaking
- You may keep to the views your presented in task A or change them
- You may support or negate points raised by other candidates but remember to be polite.
